By what other means can the Stoke Volume be Increased?
- The normal heart muscle has spring-like properties. It springs back more vigorously if the spring is stretched further (within limits). This is known as Frank-Starling's law.
- The contraction of the heart can thus be enhanced by increasing its filling with blood, which in turn stretches the spring-like muscle.
