Heart Attack Lecture

What is a Heart attack?
  • The heart is a muscular organ that requires oxygen and nutrients for survival. Coronary arteries supply these vital substances in the form of blood.
  • A temporary decrease in blood supply causes the muscle to starve for oxygen and produces chest discomfort or angina.
  • A prolonged and total loss of supply can cause irreversible muscle damage. This is known as a heart attack.
